Kelowna based woman business owner only one of three BC women selected to represent Canada in Japan.

Kelowna based, Kris Stewart, MBA, BScN, RN, the CEO and Clinical Director of Advanced Home Care Solutions Inc., is one of three (3) BC women business owners and the only Canadian home care provider selected to represent Canada in Japan, as part of the upcoming Canada Pacific Trade Partnership program.

In all, 23 Canadian women business owners who want to provide services, products, and solutions for the elderly and aging in Japan will participate in this “Canadian Women-Only Business Mission to Japan” from April 1 to 3, 2019.

Like many western countries, the traditional model of elders in small and rural communities living with their children is being eliminated as the children abandon rural lifestyles for work in the cities. This leaves elders in a vulnerable position as they age.

Japan’s new healthcare and medical strategy includes an integration of housing, medical care, nursing care, prevention services and living assistance so people will be able to live out their lives as they wish in familiar locales, even if they come to require nursing care.

Ms. Stewart’s is well positioned in this home and residential care field. She is the CEO and Clinical Director her own home care company, Advanced Home Care Solutions Inc. She also has 20+ years of experience in Residential Care including Director of Care for a First Nations Residential Care facility. In 2003 she was the Founder, Project Manager and President of Kelowna’s Image One MRI Clinic.

Ms. Stewart’s experience and education has also attracted the attention of First Nations and other organizations for her development management consulting services for residential care.

“I’m excited about the opportunities in Japan and how we can support their strategy,” said Stewart. “I’m thrilled about the possibility of consulting on the development and build of western style care homes in Japan, using Canadian wood and supporting our Canadian Wood Manufacturers.”
